PSYC 255

BRAIN & BEHAVIOR (3 credits)

This is a great course for non-psychology students. I believe it is only offered in the summer, and it appears that it has recently become an e-concordia course.

Here is the link to e-concordia page.

This course has a special place in my heart as it is the first ever course I have taken at Concordia. Looking back, there could not have been a better course to kick-start my Concordia career.

If you are in the psychology program, this course cannot be taken for credit.

It is currently being taught by Prof. Wayne Brake – a top-notch professor in the department. (He teaches PSYC 455 every winter – Neuropharmacology)

This course is essentially an introduction to the biological bases of behaviour. In this course, you will learn about the structural and functional anatomy of the central nervous system  with a strong focus on the neural pathways involved in behaviours relating to motivation, mood, learning and memory, and sensation and perception.

I know many non-psychology students whom have taken this course as an elective and not only did they do very well, they also found the material quite fascinating.
